DeAnna Torres, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist - Explore Beneath the Surface...
About DeAnna Torres...

I graduated from the California Hypnotherapy Academy  in Sacramento, which is directed by Katherine Zimmerman PhD, a well-known and respected leader in the field.  In addition to 100 hours of basic hypnotist training, Katherine also requires another 100 hours in advanced techniques, a supervised practicum, as well as the successful passing of the exam set by the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners, for completion of her Certified Hypnotherapist course. Yet another 100 hours of training in various advanced modalities, as well as ongoing continuing education, is required for the title of Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist through ACHE.

My greatest joy in this work comes from helping people to find freedom from the tyranny of unconsciously-held beliefs about themselves, others and the world around them.  Carl Jung referred to these beliefs collectively as our Shadow -- the parts of ourselves that we have dissociated from and kept hidden because they were not "socially acceptable".

However, these dissociated "soul" aspects of ourselves don't ever really go away: they remain just below the surface of our conscious minds, and, along with emotionally traumatic memories from our pasts, they influence every decision we make about life.

My work is to guide you in your exploration beneath the surface of your conscious awareness; to rediscover, heal and integrate these lost pieces of yourself so that you can live the more whole, satisfying and meaningful life you've always known you were meant to have.

Now for the legal disclosure, in answer to the question of whether or not I'm licensed: "The services to be provided do not include the practice of medicine, as Hypnotherapists are not licensed physicians. These services are non-diagnostic, and are complementary to the healing arts services that are licensed by the State. The primary purpose of licensing laws for legally defined Healing Arts and Mental Health professionals is to protect public health and safety. The Legislature finds that these non-medical complementary and alternative services do not pose a known risk to the health and safety of California residents, and that restricting access to those services due to technical violations of the Medical Practice Act is not warranted. Accordingly, Hypnotherapists are not issued licenses by any State Governmental Agency to engage in their professional services."
